International Relations and Development (IRD)
The IRD major focuses on the interconnected processes of political, economic, cultural and environmental changes taking place across the globe. The study of the theory and practice of international relations and development enables students to critically engage with a range of issues, such as the foreign policies of states, security threats, the role of international organizations and non-governmental organizations, international trade, human rights, global poverty, and climate change.

Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)
The PPE major focuses on the political, economic and ethical aspects of policy in both public and private spheres. The study of philosophy enables students to think critically and evaluate social phenomena through the application of reason and logic. The study of political science provides students with the knowledge to evaluate systems of governance, public policies, political behaviour, and political thought. Finally, the study of economics is vital as economic factors determine the material well-being of societies and restrict the feasible options of political actors.

Career Opportunities
Many career opportunities are open to IPED graduates, especially in Southeast Asia where demand remains high for graduates knowledgeable in politics, economics, international relations and development. Opportunities include positions in government ministries, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, international businesses, educational institutions, or progression to postgraduate study.
